I love how an ordinary day can quickly be interrupted with a good laugh!
Places like the Dollar General are often sources of interesting people and fun laughs.
So I was on a hunt for some really cheap earbuds to keep in my car for those random times like today that I was going to the library and wanted some earbuds to use with my computer or ipod.
On the way out I hold the door for an older African American man. As we are walking towards our cars, I barely hear him say, "You been to da beach yet?"
I say, "Excuse me?"
He repeats himself and I answer as I'm almost to my car, "No, I actually haven't been out there yet"
He then tells me "Oh well you look like you need to go to da beach."
I casually laugh wondering where in the world this is leading as I'm about to get into my car.
As I'm laughing I say, "Yeah, I know, I'm pretty white!"
He then perks up and says, "oh no no, You got it goin' on. You're hotter than the beach."
I answer with a innocent smile on my face, "oh...well, thanks for the compliment, sir"
And then I got fully into my car, had a good laugh, and left.
The man was not threatening or creepy in anyway, just nicely decided to tell me that I'm "hotter than the beach." haha. I guess he just feels better giving women the age of his children compliments for how he thinks they'll look at the beach.
hmm, guess it's better than cat calls.

Ridiculous
Sometimes I really wonder if certain people will EVER be teachable and desire to change.
I know past hurts and struggles always effect us and influence who we are and how we feel, but there comes a point as a Christian when we have to take responsibility for our lives. If that means realizing we can't to do it alone, get some help, and if we can get over it with just us and God....take action. Stop justifying, stop projecting on others, and stop twisting God's principles to make yourself feel your lack of control is comparable to Jesus' righteous anger.
I honestly praise the Lord for His amazing GRACE, because it has to be only through Him that I am not a bitter, low self-esteem, and angry person.
Praise the Almighty God.

The 3-legged hamster
Ladies and Gents,
This is for the sake of a dear friend of mine.
My lovely friend dropped off her 3 legged hamster for me to watch for the week. Each morning as I wake up to feed and tend to this hamster, it hobbles over to the edge of the cage and always ends up on the right side of the cage since it's front left leg was amputated after the accident.
This poor hamster was posing for Rodents Quarterly and slipped on some dry ice....
Long story short.....
Surgery, after surgery...ended in amputation.
This small fuzzy rodent has a sweet side.... that's for sure, but it's poop straight up STANKS!
The rodent wakes me up with his wolf impersonation every morning at about 4:30 am. My friends are night workers and actually have been training their 3-legged hamster for the "Animal's Got Talent" coming to Greenville next year. So I'm waking up to this hamster howling and I'm thinking...hmm...is this friendship really worth this?? haha wow. It's been pretty intense is all I have to say. It is cruelly funny though when he ends up stuck in the far right corner of the room in his rolly ball...hehehe
Memories have been made and sacrifices have been forced!
Now that this month (that was supposed to be a week) is coming to an end....maybe I can sleep past 4:30 again! yipee
Love you friend!
ps. this cracks me up! I hope SOMEONE gets this!

It's a bird, It's a plane, No...it's Batman Kite! :)
The windy days lately got me really thinking about kite flying!
what better outdoor therapy than kite-flying?
impulse control, exercise, determination, if first you don't suceed -try and try again, etc! :) love it!
So for the past 2 days I have taken my clients out for a little flying of the ol' 2 dollar batman kite! It totally broke the first day, so for today I had to safety pin and tape it back together. Now it's practically good as new.
Just to keep my client anonymous,
I've "smiley-faced" his/her face :)

Baxter!!!
No, this isn't a blog about the lovable dog on Anchorman...
I have been reading Karen Kingsbury's Baxter family series. I am in the Firstborn series right now, so I have read 8 of the series so far...and I have 6 more to go! Then I'm gonna move on to another related series after that!
I met Karen Kingsbury on friday at Ewomen conference. She was very down-to-earth and seemed like such a sweet person. She has to be to write about life the way she does.
I'm kinda inspired by her books to want to write short stories or something. hm...just a thought.
